3 dead as two bikes collide on highway in Amroha

Meerut: Three persons were killed and a child was injured after two motorcycles collided head-on on the Bijnor-Badaun state highway near a petrol pump in Amroha district late Monday night.

The accident occurred around 11.30 pm under the jurisdiction of Dhanaura police station.According to witnesses, both motorcycles were speeding.Police said Kunal Singh (22), from Chuchela Kalan village; Lucky (14), from Shivpuri locality in Dhanaura town; and Mohsin Khan (35), a resident of Mohammadpura village under Chandpur police station in Bijnor district, died on the spot. Faizan (12), a resident of Atarpura village under Gajraula police station, sustained injuries and was rushed to a private hospital.ASP Akhilesh Bhadauriya said Mohsin was travelling from Gajraula to Chandpur with his brother-in-law’s son, Faizan, when their motorcycle collided with another bike near Patthar Kuti. “Both motorcycles have been seized, and the bodies have been sent for postmortem. Further investigation is underway,” Bhadauriya said, adding that no formal complaint had been received from either side.
