The Konaseema Centre for Migration (KCM) has reunited three persons including a woman, who have been stranded in Oman and Dubai, with their families with their safe repatriation.
In an official release, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar said that the victims have been identified as K. Adilakhsmi of Pulletikurru village of Ambajipeta mandal and M. Mavoollu and K. Sivakrishna of Savarapalem village of Amalapuram mandal.
In September 2025, Ms. Adilakshmi was recruited by a local agent who sent her to Muscat to work as a housemaid. Later, she had taken ill, reportedly owing to heavy work beyond her physical calibre. In Muscat, the family that hired her as a housemaid handed her over to the agent based in Muscat. On being contacted by her family members, the KCM swung into action and repatriated her with the support of her agent.
In June 2025, the local agent recruited M. Mavoollu and K. Sivakrishna and sent them to Dubai on tourist visa with a promise of employment. Upon their arrival in Dubai, the duo was provided jobs in the desert areas, leading to them falling ill. On May 12, the duo had been repatriated and they were reunited with families on Wednesday.
