SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said that a total of 5780 people visited the exhibition on the first day of the exhibition on Saturday, a total of 12340 on the second day of Sunday and 11560 on the third day of Monday and purchased various products, including 2080 visitors from outside Surat. Thus, a total of 29680 people visited the exhibition in three days. The exhibitors participating in the exhibition received excellent professional response due to the large number of visitors.

Especially, the food and beverages sector, bakery products, home décor, fashion and lifestyle products received special preference from the buyers. Due to attractive schemes like ‘Buy One Get One Free’ in bakery products, the stalls of the exhibitors were continuously crowded on all three days.

Keeping in mind the heavy crowd on Sunday and Monday, the exhibition timings were extended from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM by one hour each, so that the buyers who came with their families got the opportunity to shop comfortably.

The women entrepreneurs participating in the Women Entrepreneur Exhibition also received very good responses from the buyers. Handmade, fashion, food and lifestyle products prepared by women received special attention. It was clearly seen that women empowerment was promoted by giving priority to women entrepreneurs by the Chamber. This exhibition proved to be important in the direction of empowering women entrepreneurs professionally.

Exhibitors from Afghanistan, Australia, Dubai and Japan also received a very good response from buyers at the SGCCI Global Village Expo. Apart from these four countries participating in the expo, foreign visitors from countries including Canada, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Cyprus, Ghana and Lesotho also visited the exhibitions. The unique dry food products presented by the exhibitors from Afghanistan received an overwhelming response from the buyers.

These three exhibitions organized by the SGCCI not just platforms for buying, but were becoming a living reflection of trade and entrepreneurship at the local, national and international levels, said Madrasi.
