Ana and her husband reportedly partied with the surgeon on Saturday, just a day before she underwent the procedures, after which she died of a cardiac arrest.

Ana Barbara Buhr Buldrini, a 31-year-old singer and influencer from Mozambique, died just hours after undergoing a botched cosmetic surgery in Turkey on Sunday.

According to a report by Turkiye, Ana had travelled to Istanbul for a breast augmentation, liposuction, and a nose job. She was offered free treatment as part of a commercial agreement with the hospital, which involved promoting the clinic in exchange for the procedures.

However, the surgery turned tragic when, only hours after the operation at Tusa Hospital, she died of cardiac arrest, the report said.

Her husband, Elgar Sueia, a well-known Mozambican artist, told the outlet that his wife’s dream was to “improve her aesthetic standards". He said medical staff informed him that Ana’s heart had slowed down following the procedure.

Ana and her husband reportedly partied with the surgeon on Saturday, just a day before she underwent the procedures that would prove fatal.

“I lost control. I cried, shouted, and punched the walls. I saw her in the morgue. She is looking beautiful, but she was dead," an emotional Sueia told the outlet.

Sueia also claimed that his wife was taken in for surgery earlier than originally planned—just days after her initial consultation—despite there being no urgent medical need. He further alleged that she had not been properly prepared for the operation, pointing out that although fasting was required, she had been operated on after eating.

Turkiye also reported that the hospital had recently changed its name after previously coming under scrutiny for other surgery-related deaths.

In its statement, the hospital said Ana was listed as a dental surgery patient and had been fully informed about the procedure. It also said she had signed all necessary consent forms.

The hospital added that the surgery was conducted in line with standard medical protocols, but an “unexpected complication" occurred during the recovery phase, according to the report.
