A case has been registered against six people, including a woman, in Maharashtra after four minor boys studying in college were allegedly thrashed and forced to touch the feet of the female accused over a minor argument that started in a gym.
A video of the incident, which took place in Palghar district's Vasai, was also shared on Instagram and other social media platforms. The assault allegedly stemmed from a trivial dispute between 20-year-old Mridula, the woman named in the case, and two of the four boys.
The argument witnessed an escalation when Mridula's friend, Aaditya (24), reached the gym. While the confrontation ended without any violence that day, the following day, on June 18, he reached the location where the four college students were playing cricket.
Aaditya allegedly hurled abuses at them and threatened them with dire consequences, while saying that his father is a policeman. He then left the scene.
However, the next day, he allegedly called the teenage boys to a location where he was already waiting for them with his associates. When the group of college boys reached there, they were allegedly kicked, punched and beaten with cricket bats.
Moreover, they were purportedly made to touch Mridula's feet and apologise to her. The minors also claim that they were also given death threats by the accused.
The police have invoked charges pertaining to unlawful assembly, rioting, voluntarily causing hurt and other offences against Aaditya, Mridula and four other accused.
One of the boys injured in the incident is receiving treatment at a local hospital. The probe into the matter is underway.
