46-year-old man dies of Covid-19 after four days of treatment in Andhra Pradesh

KADAPA: A 46-year-old man died of Covid-19 in Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa after undergoing treatment for four days, officials said on Thursday.The man was admitted to a local hospital with severe breathlessness and a persistent cough.According to the District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO), the man had a history of alcohol addiction.An X-ray revealed that both his lungs had been severely damaged, resulting in pneumonia. As his condition failed to improve despite four days of high-dose antibiotic treatment, doctors suspected a Covid-19 infection.A CT scan later confirmed the diagnosis.Following the death, health authorities carried out containment measures, including sanitising the area and tracing the deceased's primary and secondary contacts.
