A quiet village in Agra’s rural belt was thrown into turmoil after 48 objectionable videos involving minors went viral across multiple social media platforms, triggering arrests, community tension, and a sharp warning from police.
According to Hindustan Live, 48 videos spread rapidly across social media on Tuesday, showing five minors — two girls and three boys — all from the same village and the same school.
The videos had reportedly been recorded approximately three months ago but remained dormant until suddenly surfacing in large numbers on Monday, sending shockwaves through the area. The fact that faces were clearly identifiable in the videos has caused severe social distress for the families of the minors involved.
What Did The Police Do?
Acting swiftly on a complaint from the affected families, police registered a case and arrested two of the accused, Hindustan Live reported.
During questioning, one of the accused offered a curious explanation — claiming he had sold his old mobile phone and that the buyer may have leaked the videos. The families of the victims have flatly rejected this account, alleging the videos were deliberately circulated as part of a conspiracy to destroy the children’s futures.
How Serious Is The Tension On The Ground?
As soon as the videos went viral, two factions within the village came into conflict, Hindustan Live reported. Police have since increased patrolling in the area and appealed to residents to maintain calm and exercise restraint.
What Are The Authorities Saying?
DCP Aditya Singh has personally taken charge of the case. He has directed the cyber cell to trace all links and IP addresses from which the videos were first shared and circulated.
His warning to the public was unambiguous: anyone found forwarding or sharing these videos on social media will face prosecution under serious provisions of the IT Act and will be sent to jail.
Since all five individuals are minors, police have made a specific appeal to the public not to share or circulate the videos under any circumstances.
What Happens Next?
The investigation is ongoing. Cyber cell teams are working to identify the original source of the leak. The two arrested accused remain in custody, and further action will follow based on the evidence gathered.
