The ‘CET Seat Allotment Manthana 2026’ awareness programme related to admissions for professional courses will be conducted from May 25 to 30 in all government and aided engineering, medical, and dental colleges across the State, said Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) Executive Director H. Prasanna.
He was speaking at a seat allotment “Manthana” training workshop organised at the KEA office in Bengaluru for representatives of government and aided engineering, medical, and dental colleges.
Three to four lecturers from each college were invited and were given day-long training on the seat allotment process. More than 170 lecturers participated in the workshop.
Last year, the workshop was held only in engineering colleges, but this year, it will also be conducted in medical and dental colleges, he explained.
He said that last year, some confusion arose because the programme was organised within a short time-frame. However, this year, the KEA will launch an app through which the participants can reserve dates and time slots in advance, helping avoid last-minute confusion. Training workshops in colleges will be conducted only for those who have booked the slots.
People will be made aware of option entry, seat allotment, choice entry, fee payment, and admission procedures.
Mohammed Mohsin, Additional Chief Secretary of the Medical Education Department, who inaugurated the workshop, suggested that colleges also use the Manthana programme to showcase their academic environment to students and parents.
He said colleges should declare an “open day” and allow visitors to see laboratories, libraries, hostels, canteens, and other facilities. This would help avoid complaints after admission about a lack of facilities.
