Telangana Pradesh Pradesh Congress Committee president and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud on Wednesday said for the first time, 70% of the District Congress Committee (DCC) appointments have been given to SC, ST, and BC communities, with five ST leaders appointed as DCC presidents.

Addressing a meeting of the Telangana Adivasi Congress at Indira Bhavan here, he stressed that Rahul Gandhi’s vision of social justice is being effectively implemented by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He further revealed that a majority of director posts will soon be allotted to members of the ST community.

Highlighting Congress’s long‑standing commitment to social justice and tribal welfare, Mr. Goud said the party has consistently fought for forest rights and land rights protection.

He recalled donating 11 acres of land for a school in his native village, where Lambada community members are in majority. He assured that Congress will remain at the forefront in protecting tribal rights and improving living standards, while calling on Adivasi communities to play a key role in achieving social justice in Telangana.

He pointed out that the government is implementing several welfare schemes to expand education and employment opportunities for tribal youth, claiming that Telangana’s welfare programmes are unmatched anywhere else in the country. He also noted that in recent municipal elections, SC, ST, and BC communities won over 75 percent of seats.

The meeting was attended by All India Adivasi Congress chairman MLA Vikrant Bhuria, vice chairman Tejawat Bellayya Naik, Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, Panchayat Raj Minister D. Anusuya alias Seethakka, along with Adivasi MPs, MLAs, and senior party leaders.
