85 missing mobile phones recovered in Sundargarh

Rourkela: Altogether 85 missing mobile phones worth Rs 17 lakh have been recovered through sustained technical analysis and continuous follow-up by the cyber police and all police stations in Sundargarh district.

The handsets were handed over to their owners at the district police office on Saturday by SP (Sundargarh) Amritpal Kaur.In a press release, Sundargarh police said the recovered phones were formally returned to their owners in the presence of additional SP Mahendranath Murmu, SDPO (Sundargarh) Nirmal Mahapatra, deputy SP-in-charge of Cyber police station Rajendra Sial, inspector Mukesh Sahani of Cyber PS and other district police staff.“The victims expressed happiness and gratitude to Sundargarh police for the prompt action and dedicated efforts in tracing their lost mobile phones,” the release stated.Police urged people to immediately report loss or theft of mobile phones at the nearest police station or through the CEIR portal, keep a record of IMEI numbers, and avoid purchasing second-hand phones without proper documentation.“Sundargarh police remain committed to using technology and professional investigation to prevent cybercrime and recover lost property for citizens,” the release added.
