After the announcement of Bigg Boss Malayalam winner Akhil Marar contesting in the upcoming Kerala Assembly election, yet another name from the Malayalam TV industry is set to make a debut. Actress and Bigg Boss Malayalam fame Veena Nair will be contesting in the Rajya Sabha elections from the Ettumanoor constituency, representing the Twenty 20 party.In a press conference held at Kottayam, along with the chief coordinator Sabu Joseph, Veena has official news. During the press meet, Veena mentioned that she is happy to get an opportunity to work on the development of her hometown.Veena Nair is one of the much-liked actresses both in TV and cinema. The actress who started off her career with Malayalam serials was much loved for her character Kokila in the sitcom 'Thatteem Mutteem'.

She has done notable roles in films like 'Vellimoonga', Thattum Purathu Achuthan, Theru and more. Recently, she also made her debut as a producer with the web series' Inspection Bungalow'.On a similar note, director and Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 winner Akhil Marar has also announced that he will be contesting from the Trikkakkara constituency. On the other hand, comedian and director Ramesh Pisharody will also be contesting in the election from Palakkad.
