LPG tanker Shivalik reaches Gujarat's Mundra Port after crossing Strait of Hormuz
Jamshedpur: The parents of Ansh Tripathy, the sailor from Jamshedpur who is a member of the LPG tanker Shivalik which docked in Gujarat on Monday, had a brief conversation with his son that lasted a few seconds.Mithlesh and Chanda were able to get through to his son’s phone little after midnight. “Ansh briefly conveyed to us that he has successfully arrived at the port (Mundra in Gujarat) along with the crew members and there was nothing to worry anymore,” said Ansh’s father Mithlesh Tripathy on Tuesday.Mithlesh said his son did not say anything about his sail through the war-torn Strait of Hormuz to the Indian waters but only told his mother Chanda that he was safe and doing well.
“He did not give any indication as to when he would return home as the vessel would soon sail to different parts of the country to offload its cargo. We are waiting for his return more eagerly than ever,” he said.Ansh was a part of the 27-member Indian-flagged LPG tanker Shivalik which docked at the Mundra port with 46,000 tonnes of LPG.The vessel, owned by Shipping Corporation of India, is among the first batch of tankers to arrive with LPG in the country since the West Asia conflict broke out late last month.
