After techie, another Kerala student goes missing at Karnataka's Chandradrona hills

CHIKKAMAGALURU: District police launched a search for a 16-year-old girl from Kerala who went missing in Chikkamagaluru’s Chandradrona Hills Tuesday.The Class 10 student, Srinandhana, became untraceable during a trip to the hills with her family.Chikkamagaluru SP Jitendra Kumar Dayama said teams deployed thermal drones, and were scanning CCTV footage. They are examining call records of the girl and her parents.The forest, and fire and emergency personnel have joined the search. The operation, halted due to darkness, resumed Wednesday with additional SP Jayakumar joining the efforts.“We have intensified the search with multiple teams on the ground. Challenging terrain and dense mist are hampering operations,” a senior officer said.The incident comes days after a similar incident in Kodagu, where Kerala-based techie GS Sharanya went missing during a trek to Tadiandamol. She was found about 72 hours later.Forest minister Eshwar Khandre, meanwhile, assured full departmental support to trace the girl.
