West Asia War: Iran’s iconic B1 bridge, the highest in the entire Middle East, collapsed into two after it was struck by joint US-Israeli strikes. The strike came after US President Donald Trump warned of bombing Iran “back to the Stone Age".
“A few minutes ago, the American-Zionist enemy once again targeted the B1 bridge in Karaj," a city west of Tehran, state TV said, adding that the first strike had caused two civilian casualties.

The strike caused multiple injuries and damaged surrounding areas, according to Iranian news agency Fars.
The bridge that was still under construction was supposed to link Iran’s capital city of Tehran to the western city of Karaj. Stretching 1,050 meters with a 136-meter-high column, the $400 million project was designed to enhance regional trade and connect Tehran with northern regions. Fars reported that attacks were concentrated around the Azimiyeh area of Karaj, with the bridge itself targeted on the Karaj Northern Bypass.
The US President also shared the video on Truth Social showing explosion and warned that “the biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again," adding that Tehran must “make a deal before it is too late and there is nothing left of what still could become a great country."
Meanwhile, Iranian authorities claimed that a medical facility in Tehran was attacked. The health ministry also released images showing significant damage to a building identified as the Pasteur Institute of Iran, a century-old research centre.
Earlier in the day, Trump claimed victory over the US-Israeli war against Iran, claiming US military action has destroyed Tehran’s military prowess and will ‘finish the job’ very soon, as ‘core strategic objectives are nearing completion’.
In a roughly 19-minute speech from the White House, Trump declared that the US will hit Iran “extremely hard" over the next two to three weeks, threatening to obliterate all of Iran’s electric generating plants and target its oil sites if the country does not make a deal. “We’re going to take them back to the stone age where they belong," he said.
The war has entered its second month and the military operations in the region is continuing at full pace.
