The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen is set to celebrate the party’s 68th Revival Day on Saturday.

Buoyed by its performance in the recent Maharashtra civic polls, in which party candidates won over 120 seats, and in the Telangana civic polls, where it secured around 70 wards, the party has invited winning candidates as well as senior leaders from both States to its headquarters at Darussalaam as a show of strength.

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi is scheduled to hoist the party flag and address a public meeting. He is expected to speak about the party’s performance in both States.

Winning candidates from Maharashtra are already en route to Hyderabad as part of a convoy led by former parliamentarian and Maharashtra State president Imtiaz Jaleel, party sources said.

Mr. Owaisi, as part of his campaign in both States, had consistently emphasised the need to create leadership from within the Muslim and Dalit communities.

The AIMIM observes its revival day on March 2 every year. However, in view of the forthcoming Ramzan, the party has advanced the celebrations to Saturday evening.
