In its advisory, IndiGo said bad weather over Delhi had impacted flight schedules. “We are closely monitoring the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly," it said.

The airline requested passengers to stay updated on their flight status and allow extra time for commute in view of slow-moving traffic. “Please be assured that our teams are here to assist you at every step and provide full support."

Rain In Delhi And Mumbai

Delhi saw heavy rains on Tuesday afternoon, bringing a much-need relief from days of sweltering heatwave. However, persistent showers brought waterlogged roads, uprooted trees and traffic disruptions in the national capital.

Parts of Delhi received nearly 84 mm rainfall, while widespread showers brought down the “feels like" temperature by almost 22 degrees Celsius, although humidity levels remained extremely high. Heavy traffic congestion was witnessed on several major stretches, including Geeta Colony Road towards Noida, NH-48, Old Rohtak Road and Akshardham Road to Noida.

Mumbai also received rainfall on Tuesday, although it was less than the relentless downpours in the last two days. Two minor boys drowned, while two women suffered injuries as cement sheets collapsed at a garden in Mumbai during heavy rains and winds during the last 24 hours.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘orange’ alert, warning of intermittent showers with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated spots, along with gusty winds reaching 60–70 kmph.
