Omar Al Somah, Amir Sayoud, and Fabio Martins are key for Al Hazem as they begin their 2025-26 Roshn Saudi League season. Drawing 1–1 in their first match back in the Premier League away at Damac on August 29, 2025, Al Hazem Fabio Martins converted a penalty in the 58th minute.

Omar Al Somah, late in stoppage time missed a penalty. Damac's Jamal Harkass scored an equaliser just seconds later. Al Hazem had just won a promotion on May 30, 2025, defeating Al Adalah 3-0 in the First Division League play-offs; they now are staying up depending on seasoned players.

Omar Al Somah, Amir Sayoud, Fabio Martins: Experience expected to deliver

Al Hazem has signed several experienced players with strong Roshn Saudi League track records. Omar Al Somah, 36 years old, is the league’s all-time top scorer, having scored 155 goals in Roshn Saudi League before returning to lead Al Hazem’s attack. Amir Sayoud joined from Al Raed. In the 2024-25 season, he scored 8 goals and made 7 assists. Fabio Martins came from Al Khaleej. He is skilled, fast on the wing, and good in front of the goal. The club hopes this trio can score, assist, and influence games immediately.

Al Hazem’s RSL season opener highlights both promise and missed chances

When Al Hazem returned to the top tier on May 30, 2025, they won the play-off final at home vs. Al Adalah 3-0. That gave them momentum. Then on August 29, 2025, at Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium, Abha (Damac’s home ground), they got the season underway but in dramatic fashion.

Fabio Martins’ penalty gave Al Hazem the lead. It seemed they would take three points. But Al Somah missed his shot from the spot in stoppage time. Almost immediately, Damac equalised via Jamal Harkass from a corner. Manager Jalel Kadri has built this team around the veterans. Players like Loreintz Rosier, Elias Mokwana, Bruno Varela also joined. Sayoud, Martins, and Al Somah each have different strengths: Sayoud can create and score; Martins brings pace and flair; Al Somah brings instinct and deadly finishing in the box. Their opening match showed both promise, Martins netting, good build-up and problems missed chance, late lapse. Al Hazem need consistency if they want to avoid relegation this season.
