All set for 4th Telangana State Police Games, says Cyberabad CP

Preparations have been completed for the fourth Telangana State Police Sports and Games Meet–2026, which will be hosted by the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, according to Commissioner M. Ramesh.

A total of 2,532 players, including 1,933 men and 599 women, from three commissionerates, seven police zones and specialised units such as Greyhounds, OCTOPUS, Intelligence, Railway Police and TSSP battalions will compete in the meet.

As many as 31 sporting disciplines will be conducted, covering athletics and major team games such as kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, football, basketball, handball and hockey, along with individual events including weightlifting, wrestling, boxing, judo, gymnastics, swimming, shooting, badminton, tennis, table tennis, powerlifting and yoga. Other events include archery, cycling, fencing, taekwondo, wushu, triathlon and cross country.

For the convenience of athletes, 806 beds have been arranged at the JOM, SOM and SOTC blocks of the Telangana Police Academy. Special accommodation has been earmarked based on rank, and the Commissioner said he is personally monitoring the food menu to ensure nutritious meals are served.

The official also reviewed arrangements for transport, security and medical facilities ahead of the State-level event. He directed nodal officers to ensure there is no compromise in facilities provided to participating personnel.

The inaugural ceremony will be held on Wednesday at the Cyberabad CAR Headquarters Parade Ground. Competitions will take place at venues which include Gachibowli Stadium, Durgam Cheruvu, Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium and the Cyberabad Shooting Range. A “Bada Khana” and cultural programmes scheduled for February 20 are expected to be highlights of the event.
