Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi inaugurates 654 high tech laboratories benefiting 9 lakh students

School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, on Friday inaugurated 654 High-Tech Laboratories established at a cost of ₹41.85 crore that would benefit more than 9 lakh students studying in government-aided higher secondary schools at a function held at Kumara Raja Muthiah Higher Secondary School in Chennai.

An official release said the School Education Department has implemented several schemes to enhance the quality of education for students studying in all government primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools across Tamil Nadu such as establishment of (Mechanical) labs to teach robotics, multi-sensory parks to enhance sensory skills and cognitive abilities, improve English proficiency through “Mozhigal” language program and Children’s Science Park.

The release further said, “High-Tech Laboratories simplify teaching and learning through video, audio, and digital tools, enabling students to learn textbook content more quickly and with greater interest. Further, these laboratories will serve as educational resources for implementing programmes such as TN SPARK related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, and Coding for Classes 6 to 9.”

The State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, Ms. M. Aarthi, IAS; the Director of School Education, Dr. S. Kannappan; the State Vice-President of the Parent-Teacher Association, Mr. P.V.P. Muthukumar; the Additional State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, Mrs. S. Uma; Joint Directors Mr. V. Kumar and Mrs. Ananthi; the Chief Educational Officer of Chennai, Mr. Kabir; along with teachers and students, participated in the event.
