Andhra Pradesh is aiming for 15% economic growth and the eradication of poverty under the ‘Swarna Andhra 2047’ mission, Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar said at the 79th Independence Day celebrations on Friday.

He said Vision Action Plan Units have been set up at district and constituency levels and 52,000 Margadarsies appointed under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s P4 programme to support anti-poverty initiatives.

In agriculture, 18,253 quintals of black barley were procured from 883 farmers, ₹161 crore credited to 2.4 lakh PM-Kisan beneficiaries, and 82,000 acres brought under natural farming. The district attracted ₹4,735 crore in large industries and ₹1,608 crore in MSMEs, creating over 1.4 lakh jobs.

He also noted welfare schemes such as Thalliki Vandhanam, free LPG under Deepam 2, Anna Canteens, and the Stree Shakti scheme providing free bus travel for women from August 15. Infrastructure works worth ₹1,200 crore are under way, along with tourism projects, new roads, bridges, and skill hubs.

District Collector P. Arun Babu, SP Kanchi Srinivasa Rao and other officials attended the event.
