Members of the Ananwadi Workers and Helpers Union and Associations have urged the State government to increase their monthly salary to ₹26,000, fill the vacant supervisor posts, and extend all welfare schemes to Anganwadi workers and helpers across the State.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Anganwadi workers association affiliated to AITUC, J. Lalithamma demanded that the government to issue a GO upgrading all mini Anganwadi centres into main centres.
AP Pragathisheela Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union leader V.R. Jyothi said that the government has assured to increase salaries of Anganwadi workers and helpers, during the 42-day strike in 2024, but the commitment remains unfulfilled.
Union general secretary K. Subbaravamma asked the government to strengthen pre-schools and ensure nutritious snacks are provided to children enrolled in these schools across the State.
