Anik Dutta unveils trailer of Joto Kando Kolkatatei

Anik Dutta's 'Joto Kando Kolkatatei' trailer unveils a blend of mystery and nostalgia, with Abir Chatterjee as Topshe, now the lead investigator. Set in 1960s Kolkata, the film, featuring a stellar cast, explores themes of roots and human stories, moving beyond a typical detective narrative. Dutta emphasizes the film's focus on relatable characters and a captivating storyline.

The trailer of Joto Kando Kolkatatei, directed by filmmaker Anik Dutta, was launched recently at a city multiplex. The trailer offers audiences a rich blend of mystery, nostalgia, and sharp, intelligent humour—hallmarks of Dutta’s signature style. Abir Chatterjee takes on the role of Topshe, but with a twist: this time, the loyal companion steps into the spotlight as the sleuth himself.

While the title may spark memories of a Feluda story, the film charts its own course, merging homage with originality.The ensemble cast features Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Roja Paromita Dey, Rik Chatterjee, and Aparajita Ghosh, Dulal Lahiri, Mithu Chakrabarty and Rajat Ganguly.

Sharing his thoughts at the launch, Dutta said, “Joto Kando Kolkatatei is not only about solving a riddle—it’s about searching for one’s roots, set in the 1960s.

Initially titled Hemenbabur Heyali, the narrative has since evolved into something more expansive, different from a conventional detective tale. Here, there are no professional investigators, only human stories.”With its gripping storyline, strong performances, and the pulse of Kolkata running through its veins, Joto Kando Kolkatatei promises to be a festive season favourite, offering audiences a cinematic experience that spans generations.
