Former MLA Anil Akkara has written to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking urgent intervention to ensure the completion of the stalled Wadakkanchery LIFE Mission flat project, one of the flagship housing initiatives of the Chief Minister’s first term in office.
In his letter, Mr. Akkara pointed out that the construction of the flats has been halted midway despite the project being conceived as a major welfare measure of the government. He noted that a public interest litigation filed by him in the Kerala High Court, demanding that the State government take over and complete the project, is currently under consideration.
He said that, following court directions, a technical inspection was conducted and the government has already submitted a report before the High Court confirming that the building has adequate structural stability. However, the court has been unable to deliver a final verdict as the government has not yet granted approval to resume and complete the construction, he said.
Urging the Chief Minister to step in, Mr. Akkara appealed for immediate action to facilitate the completion of the Wadakkanchery LIFE Mission flats, so that the beneficiaries are not made to suffer any further delay.
