A tense exchange broke out between Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij and Kaithal Superintendent of Police (SP) Upasana during a district grievance committee meeting over a land fraud case allegedly involving a police employee.

Anil Vij, a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and one of Haryana’s most prominent ministers, currently handles key portfolios in the state cabinet. Known for his outspoken style and strict administrative approach, Vij was reviewing public complaints when the issue came up.

During the meeting, Vij expressed dissatisfaction over the handling of the case and questioned the police’s response. The matter pertains to alleged land fraud in which a police employee is said to be involved.

The exchange grew heated as the minister pressed for accountability and immediate action. Vij subsequently ordered the suspension of the accused police employee and directed that the Director General of Police (DGP) be informed about the development.

Officials present at the meeting said the minister emphasised that strict action must be taken in cases involving government personnel to maintain public trust.
