Bhanwala struck bronze in the men's 25m rapid-fire pistol, while Karmakar won gold in 50m rifle prone junior men's event to take India's tally to 41 gold, 19 silver, and 15 bronze.

World Championship silver medallist Anish Bhanwala secured a bronze medal in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol event, while Kazakhstan dominated the eighth day of the Asian Shooting Championship by winning four gold medals on Wednesday. This achievement marks Anish’s third medal at the Asian Championship.
Adriyan Karmakar won gold in the 50m rifle prone junior men’s event, and the junior men’s 25m RFP team also clinched gold, bringing India’s medal tally to 41 gold, 19 silver, and 15 bronze, with two days of competition remaining.
Anish and Adarsh Singh qualified for the RFP final by securing the seventh and eighth spots with scores of 574 and 573, respectively. Former champion Nikita Chiryukin of Kazakhstan led the qualifiers with a score of 582, advancing along with three of his teammates.
Japanese shooter Dai Yoshioka, a two-time Olympian and world cup gold medallist, and Ha Minh Thanh, a double Asian Games medallist, also made it to the final along with Ha’s teammate Vu Tien Nam.
In the final, which consisted of eight series of five rapid-fire shots, Yoshioka, Anish, and Chiryukin were the quickest starters. Vu and Kazakh shooter Artemiy Kabakov were the first to be eliminated after the third series.
Adarsh Singh, Anish’s teammate, exited after the fourth series with 11 hits. After the sixth series, Anish was tied for the lead with Yoshioka and Chiryukin, each having 21 hits.
In the seventh series, Anish managed two hits, while Yoshioka scored five and Chiryukin four, resulting in a bronze for Anish, mirroring his performance from the Changwon Asian Championships three years ago.
Yoshioka finished with another perfect score of five, securing a world and Asian record score of 31, surpassing his Changwon performance. Chiryukin took silver with 28 hits, while Anish ended with 23 hits.
Earlier in the day, Kazakh rifle shooter Islam Satpayev, who won a bronze at the Paris Olympics in the mixed team event, excelled by winning two gold medals in the non-Olympic 50m rifle prone men’s competitions. He scored 622.5 to win the individual event and contributed to the team gold alongside teammates Nikita Shakhtorin (622.5, individual silver) and Konstantin Malinovsky (615.0).
India’s Babu Singh Panwar secured bronze in the individual men’s event with a score of 621.3 and silver in the team event, teaming up with Samarvir Singh (618.2) and Sartaj Singh Tiwana (614.4).
In the junior men’s rifle prone event, India’s Karmakar won gold with a score of 621.7 over 60 shots. Kazakhstan secured silver and bronze through Oleg Noskov (620.6) and Tamerlan Kabulov (617.3), respectively. Kazakhstan also claimed the team gold with a total of 1848.7, surpassing India’s 1847.6.
In the final event of the day, the junior men’s 25m RFP, Indonesia’s Muhamad Fawwaz Aditia Farrel won gold with a score of 29, setting a world and Asian junior record. India’s Suraj Sharma took silver with 23, and Mukesh Nelavalli earned bronze with a score of 19.
Suraj (582) and Mukesh (572) secured gold in the team competition, alongside Sahil Choudhary (575) in the qualification round, achieving a total score of 1729. Team Kazakhstan took silver with a total of 1613.
