Mumbai: Gangster Anmol Bishnoi monitored the entire operation of firing on Rohit Shetty’s house through a video call and remained in touch with the shooters until the attack was executed, states the chargesheet, which was filed last month before the special MCOCA court.Investigators stated that the firing was part of a pre-planned operation intended to create fear and establish gang supremacy. The 1,624-page chargesheet filed before a special MCOCA court states that Bishnoi was allegedly issuing instructions to the main shooter during the incident and motivating him to complete the operation. The chargesheet claims that the prime accused, Pradeep Kumar, allegedly made an earlier attempt to target Shetty’s residence nearly 10 days before the actual firing.
Police said the accused reached the location and waited for around 30 minutes but left without opening fire. Following the failed attempt, the accused allegedly contacted Bishnoi, who reportedly expressed anger over the aborted mission and instructed them to carry out the attack successfully during the second attempt. The chargesheet states that a fresh conspiracy was then hatched and Feb 1, 2026, was finalised for the attack. Investigators alleged that Bishnoi directed the accused to complete the mission “at any cost” during the second operation.Police have invoked provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, or MCOCA, in the case, naming 17 accused in the conspiracy.
