Apple reportedly planning to launch 5 new products ahead of March 4 ‘special experience’ event

Apple's new event is set to take place on March 4

Apple is preparing to launch its new devices next week. The Cupertino-based tech giant has scheduled a launch ‘Apple Experience’ event for March 4, the company is expected to launch at least five new products.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans a three-day flurry of announcements beginning March 2 and culminating in an in-person press event on March 4 in New York, London and Shanghai. “As for what items are actually coming, I’m told Apple will introduce at least five products. They could span hardware, software and chips. A new low-cost MacBook will very likely be one of the introductions. After all, the invitation includes the colors the device will launch in,” reads the report.

Apple expected to launch five products next week

Among the rumoured products are:

  • New iPhones — including the entry-level iPhone 17e.
  • Updated MacBooks — possibly featuring the new M5 chip.
  • iPads and accessories — incremental upgrades to performance and design.
  • Displays and other hardware — part of Apple’s broader ecosystem refresh.

iPhone 17e

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17e, which will replace the iPhone 16e introduced last year. The upcoming iPhone 17e is said to be powered by the A19 chip that comes with iPhone 17. The A19 offers a modest boost in CPU speed compared to the A18, but most of its improvement is in GPU, thus allowing it to be even better for AI features and gaming. Further, the handset is tipped to get MagSafe charging feature.

Another change coming the iPhone 17e is that it may be equipped with Apple’s newest in-house cellular and wireless chips.

Other major new features include an 18MP front camera with Center Stage. This camera automatically extends to show everybody in a group selfie, even when you hold the phone vertically. As far as the pricing of the upcoming iPhone 17e is concerned, rumours suggest that the company is planning to keep pricing the same as iPhone 16e.

To recall, iPhone 16e launched in 2025 with a price tag of $599 or Rs 59,900 in India.

Apple iPad 11 generation

Apple is also expected to unveil the new iPad at the event. Apple is said to be preparing a refreshed entry-level iPad with the A18 chip, which would bring support for Apple Intelligence for the first time. New iPad Air models are tipped to move to the M4 chip. Design changes are expected to be limited, though the iPad mini is reported to switch to an OLED display.

Apple MacBook Air and MacBook Pro

Apple is also working on new Macs, including updated MacBook Air, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models powered by the M5 chip. Apple MacBook Air is said to feature Apple’s N1 networking chip which is said to improve the connectivity and wireless speed of the device. On the other hand, the Apple MacBook Pro will mainly focus on performance improvement and any major design changes are not expected.

Low-cost MacBook also expected to launch

One of the key launches in the first half of the year could be a low-cost MacBook with a screen under 13 inches, powered by an iPhone-class chip. The device is expected to compete with budget Windows laptops and Chromebooks, and is likely to be positioned as an entry point into the Mac ecosystem for new users.
