New Delhi: After introducing a range of products, Apple is now preparing to host its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026 on June 8. But this time WWDC is going to aim highly on software upgrades.

At this upcoming event, Apple is expected to introduce its latest version of its operating systems, which include iOS, macOS, and iPadOS. WWDC now serves as Apple’s platform to showcase upcoming software innovations. Apple might also outline its broader strategy in the field of AI, mainly around Apple Intelligence.

While other global tech trends are progressively being shaped by AI, with companies like OpenAI and Google taking the lead, Apple appears to be left behind in the AI race. Apple could unveil its own AI-powered chatbot, the Siri chatbot. Some reports also indicated that Apple is actively working to transform Siri into a conversational assistant similar to Claude and ChatGPT.

Apple might leverage Google’s Gemini as the foundation for its next-generation AI models. This revamped version of Siri is expected to be unveiled with the future upgrades, possibly along with iOS 27.

And if we talk about last year’s WWDC, Apple is going to introduce iOS 26, by bringing its latest Liquid Glass design. And this year, Apple is expected to unveil its most-awaited iOS 27, which is stated to aim for performance improvements, while macOS 27 is expected to support only Apple Silicon devices, which is effectively marking the end of support for Intel-based Macs.

Rosetta 2 support is expected to continue by enabling Intel-based applications to run on Apple Silicon systems. In addition, macOS 27 might drop the support for Apple’s Time Capsule hardware, by including AirPort Disks that were previously used for the Time Machine backups.
