APSRTC bus skids off narrow road in Markapuram district

An APSRTC bus travelling on the Srisailam-Dornala route carrying pilgrims and other passengers skidded off a narrow road and overturned at Thummalabailu village in Dornala mandal of Markapuram district on Tuesday evening (April 21, 2026). However, no fatalities were reported, except a few passengers sustained minor injuries.

According to the police, the accident took place on the Srisailam ghat road in the middle of Nallamala forest area at 4 p.m.. While giving way to another vehicle coming from the opposite side, the driver steered the bus to the edge of the road, where it skidded off and overturned into the adjacent bushes. The passengers exited safely and later boarded another bus on the same route.
