The Pentagon released a fresh batch of documents, videos and audio recordings related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), commonly known as UFOs, marking the third major disclosure since the government launched a new transparency initiative last month.

The latest release includes 53 documents, 10 images, six videos and three NASA audio recordings drawn from the CIA, FBI, NASA, the Department of Defense and other government agencies. The materials range from eyewitness footage of mysterious glowing objects to decades-old intelligence assessments and newly produced FBI visualizations of unexplained sightings.

Several of the newly released files focus on reports from federal law enforcement officers who described encountering unusual aerial phenomena in the western United States in 2023, including glowing orange orbs that appeared to release smaller objects into the sky.

Eyewitness Videos Take Center Stage

Unlike previous releases, which largely featured military recordings, several of the newly published videos come directly from civilian witnesses and were collected by the FBI. One of the most notable clips, titled “Northeastern Orb Sighting," was recorded in July 2025 and shows two bright lights moving across the night sky.

According to FBI interviews cited in the Pentagon’s description, witnesses reported that the objects moved silently and appeared to travel in tandem, as though they were flying in formation or connected to one another.

Another video, “Orbs Over the Pond," documents an October 2024 encounter that occurred within 25 miles of the Northeastern Orb Sighting location. The footage shows a bright object hovering above a pond at an estimated distance of 2,700 feet. Pentagon officials said witnesses described the object as resembling a plasma-like sphere that changed shape and brightness over time.

At certain moments, the primary light appeared to split into smaller luminous points. A second light source was also observed hovering just above the water and did not appear to be a reflection. Witnesses reported that the object remained largely stationary for approximately 45 minutes before disappearing.

Among the most detailed accounts in the new files is a series of reports from five federal law enforcement special agents who witnessed unusual aerial activity during a two-day period in October 2023. One witness described seeing groups of lights moving in the distance before observing red objects that accelerated instantly and arranged themselves into a perfectly coordinated horizontal formation. Another agent reported watching smaller glowing objects emerge repeatedly from a larger orange orb.

One witness said the smaller objects appeared to be “hatched" from the larger light source and stopped counting after observing the phenomenon at least five times. A second witness compared the event to “grapes being expelled from a basketball" and recalled their partner asking, “Are you seeing this?" as the display unfolded.

To accompany the reports, the FBI created a series of digital renderings intended to visually reconstruct the agents’ observations. The images were produced in 2026 and included in the Pentagon’s release.

The disclosure also includes documents from a CIA advisory panel convened in 1952 and 1953 to evaluate reports of flying saucers during the height of public interest in UFOs. Known as the Scientific Advisory Panel on Unidentified Flying Objects, the group concluded that reported sightings did not appear to pose a direct threat to national security.

Zimbabwe Incident Reached White House Situation Room

Among the historical cases included in the release is a July 2008 CIA report concerning an unidentified object observed near Harare International Airport in Zimbabwe. According to the report, information about the sighting was transmitted to the White House Situation Room and circulated throughout the intelligence community.

Observers described a disc-shaped object with a hollow center and rotating lights beneath its structure. Witnesses also reported seeing beam-like emissions from the craft. Officials at the time were unable to determine whether the object represented an advanced surveillance platform operated by a foreign government or something more unusual.

Colorado Case Remains Unresolved

The Pentagon also released details from a 2022 sighting near Colorado Springs involving what a witness described as a potato-shaped object with a creamy white, slightly translucent appearance. Based on the witness account, the FBI created an artistic rendering of the object that was included in Friday’s release.

Following the report, an intelligence partner conducted an analysis suggesting with low confidence that the sighting may have resulted from sunlight reflecting off snow-covered terrain and illuminating low-altitude clouds. Despite that assessment, Pentagon officials said the case remains unresolved.
