Joy Mukherjee’s stardom and charm
Joy Mukherjee was one of the most loved actors of Indian cinema. His sheer good looks made his fans feel weak in the knees. “He was a very big star for some time. Girls loved him. I remember when we were shooting for ‘Love In Tokyo’ in Japan, he was mobbed everywhere,” Asha Parekh said while speaking to us exclusively.“Whenever we shot together, there were a lot of fans flocking to see him, asking for his autograph. Now, fans ask for selfies,” she added.
‘Love In Tokyo’: Asha Parekh suffered an injury
When it comes to ‘Love In Tokyo,’ there was an incident that happened. Asha Parekh suffered a back injury because of a scene she shot with Joy Mukherjee. “He was supposed to carry me and drop me on the bed. He hurled me on the bed, and I had back pain for months,” she recalled.The actress was on bedrest for two months. However, the veteran star said there are ‘no hard feelings. “Joy was more scared than I was. I asked him why he threw me on the bed so hard. He said I just slipped out of his hands. Poor chap,” she expressed.Joy Mukherjee passed away in March 2012, at the age of 73. The news of his demise left everyone heartbroken.
