Himanta Biswa Sarma celebrated victory with song and dance for winning elections and BJP’s third consecutive time in Assam. BJP minister Pijush Hazarika has retained Jagiroad seat by defeating Congress’s Bubul Das. Meanwhile, Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi has lost the Jorhat seat to incumbent BJP MLA Hitendra Nath Goswami by a margin of 23,182 votes.
