New Delhi: Asus has recently unveiled its world’s first next-generation Wi-Fi technology, which is now going to begin to take shape. They have introduced their Asus ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Pro, which Asus has described as the world’s first Wi-Fi 8 gaming router.
This unveil comes even though the Wi-Fi 8 standard, and it is officially known as IEEE 802.11bn, but it is not yet finalized. Wi-Fi 8 is expected to concentrate on improving the quality of wireless connections in everyday usage.
The GT-BN98 Pro can also deliver up to twice the throughput and twice the IoT coverage compared to the previous-generation solutions. Asus stated that these improvements become particularly highlighted in medium to long-range scenarios where Wi-Fi signals are often weakened, such as upper floors, garages, gardens, and rooms located further away from the router. Another major aim of Wi-Fi 8 is to improve the communication between routers and connected devices.
Asus has included a feature called AI Game Boost, a three-level acceleration system that is specially designed to prioritize gaming traffic from the user’s device all the way to the game server. This feature can reduce the latency by up to 34%, potentially delivering smoother online gameplay and faster response times.
GT-BN98 Pro comes with dual 10GbE ports by supporting link aggregation, four 2.5GbE ports, and an additional 1GbE port. It also includes a dedicated 10G gaming port that automatically prioritizes gaming traffic without requiring any manual setup.
