At 41.7°C, Ahmedabad’s max temp two notches down

Ahmedabad: The maximum temperature on Thursday moved down a bit on the heat-o-meter, albeit the difference wasn’t that noticeable for those outdoors. According to India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast, it was 41.7 degrees celsius, 0.2 degrees lower than normal and 2 degrees less than the 43.7 degrees recorded for the three days straight.

The met office also said that it will be around 42 degrees celsius on Friday. At 28.1 degrees, Thursday’s minimum temperature was 0.2 degree higher or near normal.The forecast for Gujarat indicates that maximum temperatures during the next seven days are likely to be above 40 degrees celsius at isolated pockets over the state. The change in weather is likely to bring light to moderate rain to Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Amreli, and Gir-Somnath on Friday and to Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Tapi, Amreli, Gir-Somnath and Bhavnagar on Saturday. The weather is likely to be dry afterwards.On Thursday, Rajkot had the highest maximum temperature at 43.5 degrees. Surendranagar followed with 42 degrees; it was 41.7 degrees in Amreli each, and 41.4 degrees in Kandla among others.
