A decade-long friendship and teamwork
Ateez members Wooyoung and Yeosang, known for their close decade-long friendship, recently opened up about their strong bond built on contrasting personalities-Wooyoung's directness and Yeosang's easygoing nature.
They have supported each other through the group's rise, including tough early days and the challenges of the pandemic. Their complementary traits help balance the group dynamics as they continue to perform globally and pursue ambitious goals like performing in Seoul's top stadiums. MK Sports reports that their teamwork extends beyond the stage and into everyday life, exemplified by their shared dedication to fitness and health.
Disciplined diets and workout routines
Both artists emphasize the importance of sustained healthy habits. Wooyoung follows strict diet cycles with freedom on some days and never skips workouts, while Yeosang balances enjoying international cuisines on tours with intense exercise regimens. Wooyoung lost about 14 kilograms (30 pounds) to sharpen his dance lines but rejects the idol stereotype that demands thinness, focusing instead on body satisfaction.
Their company supports them with a dedicated health team to maintain peak physical condition for performances.
Cooking for comfort and fans
Wooyoung and Yeosang enjoy cooking, with Wooyoung often recognized as one of the better cooks among Ateez members. They recently collaborated on a healthy tofu steak recipe for the group's leader, Hongjoong. The recipe focuses on soy-based ingredients like tofu, soy milk, miso, and soy sauce for a protein-rich, skin-friendly dish.
Wooyoung shared his mother's gochujang stew recipe, a meaningful comfort food made traditionally with less water for a thicker sauce.
Yeosang adds his flair with meticulously prepared fried eggs dubbed "hell-fried eggs" by fans, promising to make "heaven-fried eggs" next time.
Tofu steak recipe highlights
Their tofu steak involves draining and mashing tofu mixed with boiled sweet potatoes, walnuts, onions, garlic, scallions, sesame oil, and salt, shaped into patties and grilled until golden. It's served with sesame oil stir-fried mushrooms and onions, topped with a creamy soy milk sauce thickened with starch water. This dish showcases their teamwork and attention to healthy, flavorful food suitable for a busy idol lifestyle.
