Autopsy reveals girl found dead along with father was sexually abused

Nearly a month after a man and his six-year-old daughter were found dead at their rented house in the city, it has emerged that the girl had been sexually abused.

The Elamakkara police, investigating the incident, on Friday (Febrruary 13, 2026) registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following findings in the post-mortem report of the girl. She was reportedly subjected to sexual abuse hours before her death.

The 33-year-old man and his daughter were found dead on January 16. The police suspect that he died by suicide after allegedly murdering the girl. The bodies were discovered by his wife.

“The POCSO case was registered based on a detailed post-mortem report received recently. Further investigation is on,” a senior police official said on Saturday.
