Bajrang Dal activists objected to a prayer meeting in Kakkeri village, near Khanapur in Belagavi district, on Friday. They alleged that two persons were trying to convert the poor residents of the village to Christianity forcefully.

Some activists stormed into a house on the outskirts of the village and got into a quarrel with a man and a woman who were leading the prayers. They asked them to leave the village, saying they would face dire consequences otherwise.

In the meantime, someone called the Nandagad Police Station, and the two persons left before the police arrived at the scene. The homeowners told the police that there was no conversation. The police told them to intimate them if the two persons came to the village again.
