Konaseema to host coir conclave on July 16, 17

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, in collaboration with the Coir Board, will host the ‘Konaseema Coir Conclave’ in Amalapuram on July 16 and 17 to explore the potential of the coir industry and promote the manufacture of value-added coir products.

Entrepreneurs from Andhra Pradesh and Kerala have been invited to share their experiences in the coir trade and discuss technological advancements in the industry.

In an official release, District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar said that only about 20% of the coir produced in the district is currently being utilised. He added that proposals would be prepared for a coir park and a coir cluster to encourage the growth of coir-based industries in the Konaseema region.
