With the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Grameen) (VB-G RAM G) scheme replacing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) with effect from July 1, the wage rates have been revised from the earlier ₹370 per day to ₹382 per day.

According to a statement here by Mysuru Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) S. Yukesh Kumar, the revised wage rates under the scheme had become payable from the same day the new scheme took effect.

The framework of the VB-G RAM-G scheme has been redesigned with a focus on the poor, farmers, women, and the youth, the statement said.

The guaranteed number of employment days has been increased to 125 days, and wages will be paid within 15 days of completion of the work.

Priority has been accorded to water-related works for water security, creation of quality rural infrastructure, livelihood infrastructure for sustainable income, and works relating to climate resilience and disaster preparedness, the statement added.

Mr. Kumar said that, in accordance with government guidelines, training has been imparted to officials of all categories, including Assistant Directors at the taluk level, administrative officers, Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) and all the staff, with the objective of implementing the scheme effectively from July 1. 

The training was conducted by Master Trainers who were trained at the Abdul Nazir Sab State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Mysuru.
