A key accused in the 2024 murder of a Hindu police officer in Bangladesh was detained at Delhi airport, while he was allegedly trying to flee to Europe, India Today reported, citing sources.
The accused, identified as Ahmed Raza Hasan Mehdi, was intercepted by the Immigration Department at the airport. Sources said the accused was detained by authorities while he was attempting to leave the country, the outlet reported.
Subsequently, he was deported to Bangladesh after the completion of necessary procedures.
KILLED POLICE OFFICER, BOASTED ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Mehdi had earlier claimed responsibility for the murder of a Hindu police officer, named Santosh Sharma, in 2024. A video of him making the statement while sitting inside a police station in Bangladesh had made rounds online.
