Vizianagaram Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy on Monday instructed officials concerned to be proactive in resolving public grievances.
Conducting a review meeting over the status of petitions submitted in the Public Grievance Redressal System and Revenue Clinics, introduced by the State government for the quick disposal of grievances, Mr. Reddy noted that many petitioners are being forced to make rounds of the government offices.
He said that direct interaction with the petitioners would enable them to know the status of their grievance and ensure confidence in the administration.
Earlier, the Collector took the petition from a physically challenged person, Sabbavarapu Pothuraj, who had sought enhancement of pension from ₹6000 to ₹15,000 on medical grounds.
Mr. Reddy promised that he would examine the petition and try for the enhancement of the pension as per the rules and regulations.
Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan, Vizianagaram District Revenue Officer Ch. Sattibabu and others attended the meeting.
