Suraksha Reloaded Bengaluru concert promoted Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan, with Naga Chaitanya and officials urging safe driving, better road design and pedestrian first streets.

Suraksha Reloaded in Bengaluru once again reflected the larger vision of Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan.
After making a strong impact across cities, Suraksha Reloaded concert arrived in Bengaluru on 27th March 2026, carrying forward the message of Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan, an initiative by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in association with NHAI, led by Nitin Gadkari, with renewed energy and purpose. The concert brought together influential voices, creative expression and meaningful conversations to highlight the importance of responsible behaviour on the road.
The concert welcomed Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, actor, entrepreneur, and racing team owner, who shared a grounded perspective on driving. Despite his passion for high-performance cars, he emphasised that driving on public roads comes with responsibility. He encouraged youngsters to understand that the thrill of speed belongs on dedicated racing tracks, while on the road, every driver is responsible not just for their own safety, but for others as well.
He highlighted lane discipline as one of the most critical aspects of road safety and drew a clear distinction between adrenaline and anxiety, stating that speed on public roads only creates risk, not thrill.
He further explained that speed limits are set as conscious safety measures, as situations on the road can change in a split second. Addressing a common misconception, he clarified that high-risk stunts seen in films are performed under strict safety protocols and are not meant to be replicated in real life.
The event then moved into a more data-driven discussion with the Police Commissioner of Bengaluru, Seemanth Kumar Singh, and Shrinivas Alavilli, from WRI, India. The Commissioner raised concerns around the growing pressure of quick e-commerce deliveries, where tight timelines often lead delivery riders to use footpaths, putting pedestrians at risk. He shared that authorities are taking action against such unsafe practices and working with the Transport Department to address the issue.
He also highlighted underage driving as a serious concern, with strict action being taken against parents who allow minors to drive. Looking ahead, he spoke about measures such as encouraging schools to allow vehicles inside their premises to reduce congestion and improve safety for students.
Building on this, Nibas Alaval spoke about the Suraksha 75 initiative, focused on redesigning Bengaluru’s most accident-prone junctions. He emphasised that while awareness and enforcement are important, safer roads also depend on better design. A total of 75 high-risk junctions have been identified, with work already underway, and more planned in the next phase. He also highlighted the importance of a pedestrian-first approach, stressing that streets should be designed for people, not just vehicles.
As the Bengaluru edition drew to a close, the event concluded with engaging performances that balanced energy and impact. The stage came alive with a musical performance by the Indian band When Chai Met Toast, setting a vibrant tone for the audience. Stand-up comedian Nithin Kamath brought a lighter moment, while a powerful Nukkad Natak by Pratidhwani Art Studio from Roshan Ke Productions added depth. Through relatable everyday situations, the performance reinforced the core message of road safety.
Suraksha Reloaded in Bengaluru once again reflected the larger vision of Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan. More than just an event, it stood as a reminder that safer roads are built through everyday choices, collective responsibility, and a shift in mind-set.
