Bengaluru: Man stabbed to death over trivial row

A 35-year-old man was was stabbed to death following a trivial row at a hotel in Basaveshwara Nagar on March 2 night.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 11.45 p.m. at Sri Raghavendra Veg Dosa Corner on Timmayya Road.

The deceased has been identified as Shashikumar, who had come to the hotel for dinner. Based on the complaint filed by Mehaboob Pasha, a police constable, two men — identified as Manjunath and Bhagyaraj alias Papu — allegedly picked up a quarrel with the victim over an issue of accidentally stepping on the foot of one of the accused.

The argument reportedly escalated, and the accused are said to have attacked Shashikumar on the neck with a sharp weapon. He collapsed on the spot due to severe injuries. The accused fled immediately after the assault. He was killed on the spot. The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for autopsy. The police are probing the exact sequence of events and are making efforts to trace and apprehend the accused.
