India’s Sahaja Yamalapalli displayed a determined performance to secure her place in the round of 16 at the KPB Trust ITF Women’s Open W100 Bengaluru 2026 as she overcame a mid-match stumble to achieve a 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 victory in an engaging singles match on Tuesday against Korea’s Dayeon Back.

Yamalapalli started strongly against Back, striking cleanly from the baseline and moving confidently to the net, dominating the first set with her aggressive play.

However, the momentum shifted in the second set as unforced errors crept into her game. Her opponent took advantage, disrupting Yamalapalli’s rhythm and winning the set.

In the deciding set, Yamalapalli quickly regained her composure. Tied at 2-2, she elevated her performance, winning the remaining games decisively to secure the match.

Later in the day, the doubles team of Ankita Raina and Indonesia’s Priska Madelyn Nugroho delivered a commanding 6-4, 6-1 win.

Facing Poland’s Zuzanna Pawlikow and India’s Vasanti Shinde, the pair were in a tight contest throughout much of the opening set. With the score at 5-4, Raina took charge in the 10th game, unleashing powerful returns to break serve and clinch the set 6-4.

Carrying the momentum into the second set, Raina and Nugroho broke Shinde’s serve early to take control. They then dictated play with confident net approaches and consistent serving, closing out the set and the match.

In other singles results, the all-Indian wildcard clash saw Vaishnavi Adkar edge Shruti Ahlawat 6-1, 7-6 in a competitive match. Eighth seed Mai Hontama secured a 6-2, 6-1 win over Diletta Cherubini, and Erika Andreeva advanced when Nicole Fossa Huergo retired while trailing 7-6(12), 1-0.

In doubles action, the Indian pair of Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty and Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi achieved a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Harshini N Nagaraj and Vanshita Pathania.

Meanwhile, the Japanese team of Misaki Matsuda and Eri Shimizu defeated Polina Bakhmutkina and Maria Golovina 6-4, 6-2.

The fourth-seeded duo of Dayeon Back and Sohyun Park eliminated the Indian pair of Akanksha Dileep Nitture and Soha Sadiq 6-2, 6-1.
