Bevco staff to receive record Onam bonus

Employees of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (Bevco) is set to receive a record Onam bonus this year.

A meeting chaired by Excise Minister M.B. Rajesh, involving the Bevco management and employee unions, decided to provide Onam bonuses up to ₹1.02 lakh for permanent staff. The amount, given under the categories of ex-gratia and performance incentives, will mark a significant increase from last year’s maximum bonus of ₹95,000.

Official sources stated that the record bonus comes against the backdrop of Bevco’s turnover of ₹19,700 crore last financial year.

In addition, cleaning and contract staff at both outlets and the headquarters will receive a special bonus of ₹6,000, a considerable hike from ₹5,000 given last year. Security personnel working at the head office and warehouses will receive a bonus of ₹12,500.
