'Bhooth Bangla' runtime revealed at 2 hours 50 minutes; Akshay Kumar film among his longest in years - Reports

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming horror-comedy 'Bhooth Bangla' has been making headlines ahead of its release, with fresh updates about its runtime and release schedule. While the film was initially set to arrive on April 10, uncertainty around its release date continues.

Adding to this, new reports suggest that the film could be one of Akshay’s longest in recent years.

Runtime makes Bhooth Bangla one of Akshay’s longest films

According to Bollywood Hungama reports, 'Bhooth Bangla' is expected to have a runtime of around 2 hours and 50 minutes. This places it among the longest films in Akshay Kumar’s filmography in over a decade.According to the portal, “'Bhooth Bangla' is around 2 hours and 50 minutes long. After the censor process, the run time may reduce or increase by a few minutes.

The exact duration will be known closer to the release date, but as of now, it is said to be around 170 minutes.”If confirmed, the film will match the length of Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, released in 2014.

Release date uncertainty and trailer delay

The film’s release date remains unclear, with speculation suggesting a possible shift from April 10 to April 17. The makers have not yet issued an official confirmation regarding the delay.Adding to the uncertainty, the trailer has also not been released yet.

It was initially expected on March 27 and later rescheduled for March 30.

Jisshu Sengupta on working with Priyadarshan

Actor Jisshu Sengupta, who plays a key role in the film, recently shared insights about his experience working with director Priyadarshan. He admitted that it took him some time to understand the filmmaker’s style.He told IANS, “The first couple of days, I was really wouldn’t say I was tense, but I was, you know, working with “THE” Priyadarshan. On the set, he is a very chilled-out director. He has fun and takes advice from everyone,”Jisshu also revealed that once he adapted to the director’s approach, he felt more comfortable on set.

Praises Akshay Kumar’s collaborative approach

Jisshu Sengupta also spoke highly of Akshay Kumar, describing his experience of working with the actor as enjoyable. He highlighted Akshay’s openness to collaboration during filming.He added, “Akshay sir would come and say, “Sir, maybe we can do it like this,” and he would say, “This is a good thing, let’s do it.” That’s the kind of person he is.”Further praising him, Jisshu said, “Akshay paaji was also a delight to work with.

It was so much fun to be around him.”

'Bhooth Bangla' marks a reunion between Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after several years. Their previous collaborations have been widely loved by audiences.The film features an ensemble cast including Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and veteran actor Asrani. Another interesting aspect of 'Bhooth Bangla' is that it marks Priyadarshan’s return to the horror-comedy genre after a long gap, as he had been focusing on thrillers and epic films like 'Kunjali Marakkar' , 'Corona Paper', 'Oppam' in his works previously since 'Khatta Meetha'.
