A mega job fair organised at Lingaraj Appa Engineering College in Bidar on Saturday witnessed an overwhelming response with more than 1,000 students from various colleges participating in the recruitment drive.

Over 45 reputed companies took part in the event and issued appointment letters to 327 candidates after completing the selection process.

Recruiters from information technology, core engineering, BPO, banking, insurance, manufacturing and electronics sectors conducted interviews and assessments throughout the day.

Presiding over the programme, secretary of Sharanabasava Vidyavardhaka Sangha Basavaraj S. Deshmukh said that in a competitive world, academic qualifications alone are not sufficient to land jobs. Students must also acquire industry-relevant skills.

He advised students to make use of such job fairs to understand industry requirements and shape their careers accordingly.

Bidar South MLA Shailendra Beldale conveyed his best wishes to students through a video message.

Inaugurating the event, Nita Shailendra Beldale lauded the college for organising a large-scale recruitment drive and urged students to strengthen their technical knowledge, communication skills and professional competencies to compete at the global level.

Guests Somasekhar Biradar and Srikanth spoke about opportunities and challenges in the employment sector, while Satish Pratapur offered career guidance and encouraged students to choose professions that matched their interests and abilities.

Among the prominent companies that participated in the recruitment drive were Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Mphasis, Concentrix, Ather Energy, Bajaj Allianz, NIIT, Park Controls, Cadmax Solutions, EduTech, NTTF India Private Limited, Skelo and Vijay Electric.

Several other leading organisations from across the country were also present.

Human resource professionals from the participating companies assessed candidates on technical knowledge, skills and communication abilities through multiple stages of interviews and selection tests.

At the end of the process, 327 candidates received appointment letters.

Speaking on the occasion, principal and programme coordinator Vinita Patil said that the job fair was organised with the aim of providing students not only quality education but also a secure career pathway.

President of Sharanabasava Vidyavardhaka Sangha and Chancellor of Sharana Basava University Dakshayani Avva and the Ninth Mahadasoha Peethadhipati of Sharanabasaveshwara Samsthan Doddappa Appa congratulated the students who received job offers.

They also appreciated the efforts of the college management, principal and staff members for successfully organising the event.
