Roads and Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy underlined the need for clear planning and financial discipline in the upcoming budget and called for prioritising ‘game changer’ infrastructure projects, particularly the Regional Ring Road (RRR), in sync with the State’s long-term development roadmap.

He directed officials to prepare focused, outcome-driven Budget Estimates for 2026–27, asserting that the Roads and Buildings department plays a decisive role in accelerating Telangana’s growth trajectory.

Chairing a review meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday, the Minister said the government plans to construct high-quality roads across the State under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and urged officials to address existing bottlenecks through coordinated efforts.

The Minister emphasised transparency in fund-sharing between the Centre and the State, stating that there should be no ambiguity in financial coordination for ongoing and proposed works.

On national highway projects, he announced that the eight-lane expansion of the Hyderabad–Vijayawada stretch of NH-65 is set to commence shortly. He said he would once again urge Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to expedite the project, which is expected to reduce travel time between Hyderabad and Vijayawada to about two-and-a-half hours upon completion.

He referred to the ‘Rising Telangana–2047’ vision of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, and said strengthening the road network remains a top priority given the rapid increase in vehicular load and population.

Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj assured that the department would prepare structured and realistic budget proposals as advised and ensure close coordination among officials for timely execution of priority works.
