Bihar college girl hospitalised after acid attack; relative arrested

A woman, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) course in Bihar's Motihari, suffered an acid attack while sleeping at her home. As per sources, her relative, who was infatuated with her and was rejected, unleashed the attack. The survivor is presently undergoing treatment in a private hospital in the city.

Following the incident, the local police soon rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the incident. They successfully traced the accused and took him into custody a few days after the incident occurred.

As further investigation has unravelled, the police have come across that the accused had developed some romantic feelings for the girl. However, upon learning about that, the girl decided not to entertain the boy, and as a result, she blacklisted his number. This angered the boy, who was looking for an opportunity to seek revenge.

A few days back, when the girl was sleeping, the boy unleashed the attack and injured the girl severely.

The police are continuing with a further probe into the matter.
