The BJP Andhra Pradesh State unit celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour at its State headquarters in Vijayawada on Sunday. The party State president P. V. N. Madhav attended the event as the chief guest and unfurled the national flag.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Madhav extended Republic Day greetings to the people and paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for uniting the princely States of India and to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution.

Emphasising the significance of the Constitution, he said it guarantees 22 fundamental rights to every citizen and stressed that national interest should always take precedence. He urged people to imbibe the values of unity among all religions and communities, underlining that patriotism and a nation-first mindset are essential for the country’s progress.

Referring to India’s achievements in the defence sector, Mr. Madhav said the country had built a strong defence ecosystem, with 23% of defence production now being exported, reflecting India’s emergence as a technologically advanced nation.

He also spoke about the party’s vision for 2047, reiterating the commitment to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and the goal of making India a leading nation globally, while highlighting the importance of good governance and national pride.
